Chief Gladden Smoke is a graduate of The Citadel with a BS in Civil Engineering. Chief Smoke is a Licensed Professional Engineer and is currently the Director of Campus Operations at Spartanburg Community College. Chief Smoke has previously served as a Captain, Assistant Chief, and on the Board of Directors. He is an Adjunct Instructor with the South Carolina Fire Academy and holds IFSAC certifications for Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor I, Firefighter I & II and is an OSHA HazMat Technician.
Assistant Chief Stephen Ellis is a graduate of Clemson University with a BS in Civil Engineering. He is currently the SC Dept. Of Transportation Resident Maintenance Engineer for Cherokee County. Asst. Chief Ellis has 16 years of experience and previously served as a Lieutenant, Captain, and on the Board of Directors. He holds IFSAC certifications for Firefighter I & II and Fire Instructor I and is an OSHA HazMat Technician.
