Chief Gladden Smoke
Chief Smoke has been in the Fire Service since 1999 when he began volunteering at the City of Gaffney Fire Department. He has served with the Grassy Pond Volunteer Fire Department since 2002 and has served as Chief for the past 15 years. He is responsible for overseeing the operations and management to ensure that our department is always prepared to respond to emergencies.
Assistant Chief Stephen Ellis
Asst. Chief Ellis joined the Grassy Pond Fire Department in 1996, he served with Clemson University Fire & EMS from 1998 to 2003, he has served as Asst. Chief at Grassy Pond for 15 years. Asst Chief Ellis is a partner for Chief Smoke in managing the operations of the department and serves as the Sr. Operations officer in the Chief's absence.
